Help for digestive disorders

There are many different digestive disorders and diseases. Any health problem that occurs anywhere in the digestive tract is a disorder that we can treat and provide relief from. A few of the more common digestive disorders are:

DIARRHEA – A very common complaint by patients and can be due to a variety of conditions. If you have diarrhea of more than four weeks’ duration or debilitating symptoms, we can help find the cause and restore your active lifestyle.

CONSTIPATION – The inability to have regular bowel movements. About 80% of people suffer from constipation at some time during their lives. Brief periods of constipation are not unusual and should not cause concern. If you have fewer than three bowel movements weekly, you might be constipated.

HEMORRHOIDS – Will affect half of all Americans at some point in their lives. By the time most people seek help, their hemorrhoid problem is serious. Doing what you can to ensure you have regular bowel movements and soft stools is the best way to prevent hemorrhoids. This includes getting plenty of liquids and fiber in your diet and walking and exercising regularly. This will help make sure your stools are soft and easy to pass. Signs and symptoms of hemorrhoids include itching, discomfort and pain, often accompanied by blood on the surface of the stool. With external hemorrhoids, you may also see or feel a hard lump of blood under the skin around the anus.

Over 95% of all hemorrhoids can be treated using rubber band ligation, sclerotherapy or laser coagulation. Today’s smaller, more comfortable, more advanced bands allow more accurate placement. Patients enjoy unprecedented safety, comfort and ease.

These and other problems in the digestive tract may cause:

  • Bleeding
  • Bloating
  • Heartburn
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Stomach/abdominal pain
  • Swallowing difficulties
  • Unexplained weight gain or loss
  • Fecal incontinence
